Overview
Mount Batur is one of the most beautiful places in Bali. This ancient yet still active volcano attracts countless visitors from all over the world.
Standing at 1,717 meters above sea level, the hike to the summit takes about 2–3 hours.
We will pick you up between 1:00 and 2:30 a.m., depending on your location. The ascent begins around 3:30–4:00 a.m. and usually takes 2 to 3 hours, depending on your fitness level and weather conditions.
Balinese people have long believed that the gods dwell on mountain tops. Before stepping onto this sacred ground, they offer small tributes. It is said that here, at the summit, your prayers are more likely to be heard and your wishes granted.

- Important: BaliSoulTrips.com is not responsible for weather conditions on the dates you have booked the tour. The weather in the Batur volcano caldera is unpredictable — fog, rain, and low visibility are possible during the climb, especially during the rainy season.
- You will head to the Kintamani area, known for its cool climate. Local residents have established numerous farms here, growing various vegetables that require fertilizers. Because of this, the area attracts a large number of flies. You may encounter them everywhere; unfortunately, there is no way to avoid them. Please be understanding and simply ignore them, as the locals do.
- If private transfers are required from three or more different areas, please check with the manager for possible additional car fees.
- At the hot springs, you may stay for no more than 2 hours. If you wish to extend this time, please contact the BaliSoulTrips.com manager to arrange an extra payment for car rental.

02:00 – Night transfer
At the scheduled time, a driver will arrive at your hotel or villa. Please wait for the car at the hotel reception or at the entrance of your villa. At the starting point, you will meet your local guide, who will give a short briefing and provide flashlights.

Hike to the summit
The ascent of Mount Batur begins around 4:00 AM. To make the climb to 1,717 meters more comfortable, several rest stops are planned along the way. You will reach the summit at sunrise. There you’ll be offered a light breakfast — a banana sandwich, boiled eggs, tea, and coffee. From the top, you’ll enjoy a breathtaking view of the caldera and the mountain lake wrapped in the morning mist. You’ll have plenty of time to take beautiful photos before descending. After the trek, your driver will be waiting at the parking area.
Hot springs (for tickets with hot springs included)
After the trek, you’ll visit the hot springs, where you can relax and recover from the hike. You can also have breakfast at the restaurant near the hot springs or order meals and drinks from the menu at an additional cost.

Return Transfer
After the hike ends and you descend the mountain, your transfer will take you back to your hotel or villa. The travel time depends on traffic conditions and the location of your destination.
