Tulamben is a small village on the eastern coast of Bali that attracts divers from all over the world thanks to its unique underwater attraction. Resting on the seabed here is the transport ship Liberty, which has become a true paradise for underwater explorers.
The history of the ship dates back to World War II. After being hit by a torpedo, Liberty was towed to the shores of Tulamben, where it remained stranded for many years. However, in 1963, a powerful eruption of Mount Agung and the subsequent earthquake caused a lava flow that sent the vessel to the bottom of the ocean. Today, this site is a fascinating underwater museum, covered in coral and home to a wide variety of marine life.
Dives here are suitable for divers of all experience levels.
At the scheduled time, please be at the meeting point at the company’s dive center.
If you booked a morning transfer, a driver will arrive at your hotel or villa at the agreed time. Please wait at the hotel reception or at the entrance to your villa.
The transfer will take you to the dive center in the northeast of Bali, in the Amed area. The drive from the southern regions takes about 2.5 hours, passing rice terraces and volcanic black sand beaches, with stunning views of Mount Agung along the way.
At the dive center, instructor will explain how to behave underwater and provide key safety guidelines. The entry into the water will be from the shore. The journey from the dive center to the dive site takes about 20 minutes through scenic surroundings.
The first dive lasts approximately 25–30 minutes and takes place at the site of the sunken ship. After the dive, you’ll have time to relax at a café and share impressions with other participants. A light lunch will be provided.
After a short rest, you’ll continue exploring the ocean with renewed energy. The second dive will be slightly longer — about 35–40 minutes.
You will return to the dive center around 16:00.
If you booked a return transfer, please head to the dive center parking area, where your driver will be waiting. The transfer will take you back to your hotel or villa. Travel time depends on traffic conditions and the location of your accommodation.
