Aling-Aling Waterfall is located in Sambangan village, Buleleng Regency, in the northern highlands of Bali. This destination is popular among nature lovers and adventure seekers thanks to its unique landscape and lush vegetation.

Situated about 80 kilometers north of Denpasar and just 8 kilometers from the city of Singaraja, the waterfall offers breathtaking views of tropical forests, terraced rice fields, and crystal-clear rivers.

The name “Aling-Aling” translates from Indonesian as “flying water,” perfectly reflecting its character: streams rushing down the cliffs create the impression of a free and living force of nature.

Features of the waterfall

Aling-Aling is about 30 meters high and stands out with its twin streams that plunge side by side. As they crash onto the rocks, they form a turquoise pool at the base. On sunny days, the water glimmers in shades of blue and looks especially inviting. Officially, swimming is not allowed here due to the depth and sacred value of the waterfall, although some tourists still choose to take a dip.

The path to the waterfall

The journey begins at the parking area, followed by a 15-minute walk. The trail passes through plantations of cacao, coffee, and rice before descending into a gorge. Along the way, visitors can enjoy views of lush jungle, steep cliffs, and tropical greenery.

Two parking lots are available near the waterfall. The first is located about 300 meters from the entrance, while the second is closer, saving energy for the main trek.
