Sanur is one of the few beaches in Bali that is ideal for swimming. It is located 11 km from Denpasar and 16 km from Ngurah Rai International Airport. The beach stretches for about 1.5 km and is covered with yellow sand, which was brought in to increase its tourist appeal.
Beach features
• Width: from 10 to 40 meters.
• Sand: light-colored, coarse in texture, resembling millet.
• Water: clear with a turquoise hue, sometimes with seaweed during high tides.
• Waves: thanks to the coral reef and breakwaters, the sea is calm, without waves or undercurrents.
Beach zones
• Northern part: less popular, with underdeveloped infrastructure, sand transitions into black volcanic.
• Southern part: resort area with restaurants, cafés, hotels, and developed infrastructure.
