The tethered balloon takes two guests (up to 150 kg in total) and rises from the grounds of the Tanah Gajah estate in Ubud. Choose one of four programs:
- Balloon ride only — a morning or afternoon slot, confirmed by the manager
- Balloon + sunset afternoon tea — 17:30–19:00
- Balloon + sunrise breakfast — 06:30–08:00
- Balloon + sunset dinner — 17:30–19:00

- One balloon ride is for 2 guests with a maximum total weight of 150 kg — the weight of both guests is required at booking.
- Ride only: a morning or afternoon slot, confirmed by the manager.
- Sunset afternoon tea: 17:30–19:00; sunrise breakfast: 06:30–08:00; sunset dinner: 17:30–19:00.
- Bookings for the next day are accepted until 17:30.
- Children: on request via the manager (subject to the 150 kg limit).

- Please note that the time indicated in your program may not correspond to the actual balloon ride time — the ascent is carried out on a first-come, first-served basis. Be prepared for possible waiting times or cancellation due to weather conditions.

How much is the hot air balloon in Bali?

Is it a free flight or a tethered balloon?
It is a tethered balloon: it rises on a rope above the rice fields of Tanah Gajah in Ubud, you take photos and come back down. It is not a free flight.

How long is the balloon ride?
The ride itself takes 7–10 minutes. Programs with a meal run 17:30–19:00 (sunset afternoon tea or dinner) or 06:30–08:00 (sunrise breakfast); the time of the “Balloon ride only” slot is confirmed by the manager.

What is the weight limit?
One balloon takes two guests with a total weight of up to 150 kg. Please tell us your weights when booking. Children — on request via the manager.

What happens if the weather is bad?
The ride depends on the weather: there may be waiting time, and the ride can be cancelled for safety. What happens to your booking is described below under “If you Cancel”.

Is hotel transfer included?
No, hotel transfer is not included. You can come to the Tanah Gajah Hotel on your own at least 30 minutes before the ride, or book a transfer through our managers — they will arrange it and confirm the cost.

Your ride time and what is included depend on the program you choose:
- Balloon ride only — a morning or afternoon slot, confirmed by the manager.
- Balloon + sunset afternoon tea — 17:30–19:00.
- Balloon + sunrise breakfast — 06:30–08:00.
- Balloon + sunset dinner — 17:30–19:00.
The Tanah Gajah Hotel grounds are very picturesque and perfect for a walk before or after the ride.

Cancellation Policy

If you Cancel
- A refund is made with a 10% deduction from the payment amount if the cancellation is made by the client at least 48 hours before the start of the activity.
- If you cancel less than 48 hours before the start of the activity for any reason, whether due to health issues, booking errors, or other unforeseen circumstances, unfortunately, a refund or rescheduling is not possible. A 100% cancellation fee will be charged.
- If you decide to cancel the tour after it has started (due to feeling unwell or for any other reason), no refund is possible.
- Tour cancellations due to weather conditions are based solely on official information indicating conditions that prevent the safe conduct of activities. The organizers have the necessary experience and knowledge about weather conditions along the route. For safety reasons, no trip will be permitted if an official ban is in place.
- A subjective assessment of weather conditions by participants cannot be considered a valid reason for deciding whether to proceed with or cancel the trip.
- Refunds are made according to the exchange rate set by the Bank of Indonesia on the day of payment.
- A full refund is provided if the service cannot be fully delivered by the provider.
- The processing time for refund requests is up to 5 days, and the refund will be issued within 10 days from the date of request.

If you Reschedule
- Rescheduling is possible once with at least 48 hours notice before the tour start time. We will do our best to accommodate your preferred date, subject to availability. If the requested date is not available and alternative dates are unsuitable, the booking will be cancelled in accordance with the cancellation policy.
