Upon arrival at Pangkalan Bun Airport, you'll be met by your guide and driver, and the transfer to the port town of Kumai will begin. The drive takes about 20 minutes.

Once in Kumai, you'll board a traditional houseboat that becomes your home for the journey. Lunch will be served on board.

After that, the cruise along the Kumai River begins. In about 15 minutes the boat enters the Sekonyer River — the main waterway of Tanjung Puting National Park.

During the unhurried river journey you'll see dense tropical vegetation along the banks: nipa palms, pandanus, and the characteristic jungle of Borneo. Even in the first hours you can often spot wild animals — numerous birds, macaques, proboscis monkeys, and even orangutans.

Time permitting, around 15:00 you'll visit the first orangutan feeding station at Tanjung Harapan Camp.

Around 16:00 the journey continues along the riverbanks, where you can observe proboscis monkeys in their natural habitat. These rare primates are endemic to Borneo and are found almost nowhere else in the world.

In the evening, dinner and an overnight stay await you on board a Deluxe category houseboat.

After breakfast, the boat continues upriver to Pondok Tanggui camp — one of the rehabilitation centers for orangutan protection.

Around 09:00 you'll visit the morning orangutan feeding and watch the animals up close, as well as take photographs.

After the visit, the camp is left behind and the journey continues to the legendary Camp Leakey — the national park's most famous research center and one of the main highlights of the entire route.

Along the way you'll pass through the so-called "black river" — a stretch of jungle with a particularly rich ecosystem. Here you can see many species of birds, primates, fish, and, with luck, crocodiles.

Lunch will be prepared for you on board.

On arrival at Camp Leakey, a jungle walk and a visit to another orangutan feeding station await you.

After 16:00 the boat begins its way back downriver toward the nipa palm thickets, where at nightfall you can watch thousands of fireflies lighting up the banks.

In the evening, dinner and an overnight stay on board the houseboat.

After breakfast on board, the return journey downriver to Kumai begins.

On arrival, a transfer to Pangkalan Bun Airport awaits you, timed to your onward flight.
