Gili Islands Tours
LanguageEnglish, Indonesian
The Gili Islands are a true paradise for travelers in Indonesia, also known as the “Turtle Islands.” If you dream of a tropical escape and a complete break from everyday life, don’t miss the chance to visit Gili Trawangan — the largest and most scenic of the islands.
Here, there’s no noisy motor traffic or crowded tourist spots. Instead, you’ll find pristine beaches, abundant underwater life, and lively evening parties with music in local bars. Gili Trawangan caters both to those seeking a peaceful beach getaway and photo opportunities against perfect landscapes, as well as to adventure seekers. Snorkeling and observing rare sea turtles, stand-up paddleboarding, or wakeboarding — all are available here. You can also rent a bicycle and explore the entire island in a couple of hours, soaking in its unique atmosphere and stunning views.
Early in the morning, a transfer will pick you up from your hotel or villa and take you to Padang Bai port. Please wait for the vehicle at the hotel reception or at the entrance to your villa.
At the port, you need to find the office of the boat company Ostina and check in for your trip. Check-in must be completed at least 60 minutes before the boat departure. Keep your paper ticket with stubs in a safe place, as you will need it for return registration.
The boat departs from Padang Bai port at 09:30 AM. The trip to Gili Trawangan on a speedboat takes approximately two and a half hours. If you are prone to seasickness, take motion sickness tablets about an hour before departure.
Upon arrival at Gili Trawangan, a guide holding a “BaliSoulTrips” sign will meet you. Depending on your arrival time, you can leave your belongings at the hotel or at the port office. Then you will go on a group snorkeling trip on a private boat.
During snorkeling, you can purchase underwater GoPro footage on-site (additional cost approx. 200,000 IDR).
Snorkeling takes place at three spots: the “Nest” spot with underwater statues, the turtle spot near Gili Meno, and the “Fish Garden” near Gili Air.

Around 14:00–15:00, lunch is scheduled (not included) on Gili Meno (group trip only). After this, the organized part of the trip ends, and you can spend the rest of the day on the island as you wish or simply relax at your hotel.

On the next day, we recommend waking up early to enjoy the sunrise and have breakfast at the hotel. Check-out time is by 10:00 AM.
To check in for the return trip from Gili Trawangan to Bali, arrive at the Ostina office at least 60 minutes before departure and present your ticket. The boat departs at 12:00 PM.
Delays are common on the return trip, so for a comfortable wait on the beach, bring a hat and try to stay in the shade to avoid discomfort in the sun.
Upon arrival at Padang Bai port, approach the ticket office of the boat company (where you checked in for the trip to the Gilis). The staff will advise you on how to find the group transfer to your area. The transfer will take you to your hotel, villa, or meeting point.
